Welcome to Leader Corner — a space where the Masters and Instructors of Jung Shin Academy share thoughts on training, leadership, the martial arts journey, and life outside the dojang.
Why This Space Exists
One of the things I have always valued most about martial arts is the conversation that happens outside of class. The brief exchange after a hard training session. The question a student asks that makes you think about something differently. The reflection that comes when you sit with a lesson long enough.
This blog is an attempt to capture some of that — to share what is on our minds as instructors, what we are learning, and what we hope our students take with them beyond the techniques.
What You Will Find Here
Posts here will not follow a strict format. Expect:
- Reflections on specific techniques or forms and what they have taught us
- Thoughts on leadership, discipline, and the mental side of training
- Perspectives on competition, rank, and what it means to grow
- Announcements of significance to our school community
A Note on the Name
“Leader Corner” is intentional. We believe every student at Jung Shin Academy is developing leadership — of themselves, and eventually of others. You do not need a title to lead. You lead by showing up, training with integrity, and encouraging those around you.
We hope this space reflects that spirit.
